Alright, so on to guns?

This is a review I shot for my brother's company. It was interesting because it was the first time I tried to 2-cam shots but I think they worked well considering that every gun shot worked as a marker to sync the sound. An interesting fact about the shoot was that it freezing outside but I wouldn't let my brother put on his coat because I thought it looked better without. Hehe. I'm turning into an evil director.

Steve and Vanessa: The Wedding

This couple had impeccable style and taste. They wanted a complete fly on the wall feel so all the audio I used was from the actual ceremony and the actual toasts. I loved it! I used two cameras but I ended up just using footage from my T2i. (less to color correct). My husband came on this shoot as well but basically he just read Harry Potter in the hotel lobby. But when the time came, he also pushed record on my second camera. What a guy!
MOOD Production and Events did a beautiful job setting the atmosphere for the whole event. I am so glad they did my wedding too!
I love the big smile on Vanessa's face the whole time. Both of them cried through the ceremony. It was beautiful. Enjoy!

Brad and Dani: The Wedding

So lucky to have be able to do so a lot of weddings in a row. Brad and Dani are about the nicest people you could ever meet. They chose an excellent location at a golf course overlooking the whole valley. I tried out my new indislider on this shoot but found it to be difficult without any tripod or ball-pistol grip. Still as smooth as butter though.
I loved the atmosphere of their reception. It was very beautiful, but relaxed. They legitimately smashed cake in each other's faces. They laughed the whole time. As it should be...

Trevor and Nicole: the Wedding

I loved the bride and groom's first dance. It was very meaningful to them and it made me think a lot about my marriage and how wonderful it has been so far. The more and more I do weddings, the more I love them! Trevor and Nicole lingered after the reception because they didn't want to leave their family. I was amazed that Nicole looked perfectly beautiful the whole day through (my hair started to fall down halfway through my wedding).

So believe it or not, dreams do come true, and I got married over the holiday to my best friend who loves watching movies and eating junk food with me. Wow!

My sister did the pictures, she is super sly and snuck a lot of good candids. This picture was the fortune that popped out of our fortune cookie pinata. That's right, we had an actual pinata courtesy of Mood Events and Productions.

The Birth of Mia

I had the awesome and reasonably new experience to see a baby moments after birth. They are wriggly and splotchy and very small but at least it wasn't as gory as I imagined. My sister seemed tired. I guess it was from the baby? Well, one day I might know myself.

My favorite part was to see Kenji and Emi's reaction to their new sister. Kenji kissed Mia on the head. It looked like it was all clicking for him.

Amy and Kyle: The Wedding

This was an amazing wedding with style and flair. I enjoyed being apart of it. Amy and Kyle are so fun and not afraid to be different. I had the opportunity to interview almost everyone in both of their families which was very interesting. Everyone tried to dodge me because they knew I was going to interview them, but they couldn't escape me. It was fun getting to know everyone, take a peek.

Jacob and Breanne

I tried some different things with editing here. I think I went jump cut crazy but it seems to work. I really liked working with Garrett Soong with Mood Events and Productions. He created a visual landscape that was very pleasant to film. The bride and groom loved the camera too.

Jason and Carrie, the Wedding

This was the first mini-film I co-shot with someone. The indelible Ben Brooksby brought his Canon 5D and shot some really crisp footage. I've been considering a Canon 5D, but when I have a couple thousand dollars laying around, perhaps, perhaps, perhaps.

Andrew & Victoria

This little number was shot in beautiful Midway. There are lots of fields and empty space but full of love. I think I went a little overboard with the sun flares, but oh well, it was fun. I also experimented with some Lav mics, I think I'll go ahead and buy them, the sound quality was pretty good.

Airplanes for Daddy

Father's Day is a great time for kids to play in front of a camera and call it a gift. This is a premiere of the fig rig I bought that is suppose to do smoother steady-cam like movements. I still need practice.

This film was a fantastic idea for a father's day gift. The kids were so comfortable and relaxed in their own home. This has convinced me that house shoots may be a better idea than I thought.

Orchard Dream

The Christensens were kind enough to let me share their orchard dream. I had just built a make-shift dolly and track with wood and 12$ wheels from lowes. It turns out it works pretty well but it looks like driftwood. The weather and lighting was perfect, and filming a family enjoying nature, seeing and airplane, and blowing dandelions made it all the better.

Cupcakes

This was a 4 hour shoot. I think because cupcakes are more complicated than I thought. Indoor shoots are great in the morning.

Any weather is good for a shoot. I did this shoot in one hour on April 1st with my brother and his family. No color correction necessary.
